Republican state Rep. Will Crocker was on WXTK radio yesterday with morning-drive host Ed Lambert taking a page from his party’s national campaign playbook about how Democrats want to defund police and Mr. Crocker decided to try and wrap that silly claim around Kip Diggs.
Mr. Crocker may be desperate, but he knows better. Kip has never said he supports defunding the police and he wouldn’t support it. REPEAT: Kip Diggs does not support any effort to defund our local police. Period.
REPEAT: Kip Diggs does not support any effort to defund our local police. Period.
We can’t speak to Mr. Crocker’s lineage, but Kip comes from a long line of soldiers and public servants. His grandfather was a military veteran who returned to Barnstable and founded Joe’s Twin Villa. His father served three tours in Vietnam and two of his great uncles were members of the famed Tuskegee Airmen, flying fighter planes during World War II. His uncle was a firefighter.
In his position as construction supervisor with the Town of Barnstable, Kip interacts with our police and fire departments every day and is grateful for the work they do to protect our communities of Yarmouth and Barnstable. They may not know Will Crocker very well, but they certainly know Kip Diggs.
